Private Client Tax professionals — if you're ready to spend less time simply ticking boxes and more time actually advising clients, this could be worth a look.
I'm working on an opportunity for an experienced Private Client Tax Senior Manager to join a growing professional services team in Belfast.
This is a genuinely advisory-focused role, with full ownership of a diverse private client portfolio and the opportunity to become a trusted adviser to clients on some of their most important financial decisions.
We're looking for someone who enjoys the technical side of private client tax but also wants the client contact, commercial exposure and responsibility that comes with operating at Senior Manager level.
What you'll be doing
You'll take ownership of your own portfolio and lead on complex private client advisory work across areas including:
- Inheritance Tax
- Capital Gains Tax
- Succession planning
- Estates
- Trusts
- Complex personal tax matters
- Wider private client advisory
You'll also:
- Lead complex advisory assignments from start to finish
- Provide proactive advice and become a trusted adviser to clients
- Identify opportunities for additional advisory work and contribute to business development
- Manage multiple assignments whilst maintaining a high standard of client service
- Review and sign off complex compliance work where required
- Work with wider teams to provide joined-up advice
- Mentor and develop junior members of the team
- Take ownership of engagements from initial opportunity through to delivery and billing
- Strong Private Client Tax experience gained within professional services
- A clear advisory focus, alongside a solid compliance background
- CTA, ACA/CA, ATT, STEP or equivalent qualification
- Experience managing your own client portfolio and senior client relationships
- Strong technical knowledge and the confidence to deal with complex matters
- Experience mentoring or developing junior team members
- A commercial mindset and an interest in developing client relationships
- Excellent communication skills
- The ability to work independently and take genuine ownership
Why consider it?
- £65,000–£75,000 base salary + benefits
- Hybrid working in Belfast
- A genuinely advisory-led position rather than a compliance-heavy Senior Manager role
- Full ownership of your client portfolio
- Exposure to complex and interesting private client work
- Direct client relationships and senior stakeholder exposure
- Opportunity to contribute to business development and the growth of the team
- Leadership and mentoring responsibility
- Clear scope to develop your career further
And don't worry — this isn't one of those roles where "advisory" means you spend 95% of your time doing compliance and 5% wondering when the advisory work is going to appear. 😉
