Lead Audits, Develop Your Career and Make an Impact An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Audit Assistant Manager to join a growing and ambitious audit team in Manchester.

This role offers the opportunity to manage a varied portfolio of commercial businesses, owner-managed companies and charities, while supporting the delivery of audit engagements, developing junior team members and building strong client relationships.

Working closely with Audit Managers, Directors and Partners, you'll play an important role in delivering high-quality audit services and contributing to the continued success and growth of the audit practice.

The position operates within a flexible hybrid working model, with regular presence across the Manchester office, client sites and the wider Greater Manchester and North West audit region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the planning, execution and completion of audit assignments
  • Manage a portfolio of audit clients alongside Audit Managers and Partners
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients throughout engagements
  • Review audit work prepared by junior team members
  • Coach, mentor and train trainees and audit seniors
  • Support audit delivery to ensure quality and compliance standards are met
  • Assist with budgeting, resourcing and engagement planning
  • Manage multiple assignments and deadlines effectively
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Identify opportunities to provide additional services to clients
  • Contribute to networking and business development initiatives
  • Support Managers, Directors and Partners with ad hoc projects and strategic growth plans
About You You'll be a proactive and commercially aware audit professional who enjoys working with clients, leading teams and delivering exceptional service.

Essential Requirements
  • ACA, ACCA or equivalent professional qualification
  • External audit experience gained within a professional practice environment
  • Strong post-qualified audit experience
  • Experience leading audit assignments and supervising staff
  • Excellent client-facing and relationship management skills
  • Strong technical audit and accounting knowledge
  • Experience reviewing work prepared by junior colleagues
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
