As a compliance manager you will manage regulatory engagement activities, providing strategic insight on emerging regulatory and policy developments.
Working as part of the second line of defence (2LoD), you will be responsible for monitoring and interpreting regulatory developments, coordinating external engagement with regulators and industry bodies.
This is a highly visible role requiring strong regulatory expertise, excellent stakeholder management skills, and significant experience engaging with regulatory and industry stakeholders.
Some Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate engagement with regulators.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key regulatory contacts to support strategic objectives
- Support senior leaders in external regulatory interactions and prepare briefing materials as required.
- Manage and oversee compliance with the Regulatory Engagement Policy.
- Lead or coordinate the development of responses to FCA consultations, discussion papers, and calls for evidence.
- Work with business stakeholders to develop clear organisational positions on significant regulatory and policy developments.
- Partner with business leaders to identify emerging regulatory risks and opportunities.
- Act as a subject matter expert on regulatory developments and their broader strategic implications.
- Experience managing regulatory engagement activities within a UK financial services organisation.
- Strong track record of building and maintaining relationships with regulators, policymakers, industry bodies, and other external stakeholders.
- Experience representing organisations in external forums and influencing policy discussions through effective stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent knowledge of current and emerging regulatory issues impacting investment, wealth management, or broader financial services markets.
- Proven ability to analyse complex regulatory and policy developments
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to build credibility and influence at all levels of the organisation.
- Confident communicator capable of constructively challenging and influencing stakeholders.
