Audit Advisor
Location: Canterbury or Chatham - 3-days per week in office
About the Opportunity
A well-established and fast-growing professional services business is looking for an ambitious Audit Advisor to join their expanding Audit team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a recently qualified or experienced audit professional who wants to take real ownership of client assignments, build lasting client relationships, and start developing the next generation of talent around them.
You'll be joining a firm that genuinely invests in its people, offers a clear route for progression, and gives its audit team the autonomy to manage engagements from planning through to completion — all while working closely with Managers, Directors and Partners who are invested in your development.
What You'll Be Doing
Audit Delivery
You'll take ownership of audit assignments from planning through to completion, working to professional standards, budgets and deadlines. You'll manage delivery expectations, flag issues early, and get stuck into more complex audit areas — with support on hand when you need it. You'll be the client's main point of contact during fieldwork, building strong relationships and reviewing draft accounts along the way.
Client Relationships
You'll help manage and grow a portfolio of clients, delivering a proactive, responsive service and spotting opportunities to bring in specialists where extra value can be added.
Coaching & Development
You'll manage work delegated to junior colleagues, coach and mentor them, and give the kind of feedback that helps people genuinely improve — all while staying accountable for the overall quality of delivery.
Commercial Awareness
You'll get involved in recoverability, budgets, WIP and fee preparation, contributing to the profitability and smooth running of engagements.
Technical Excellence
You'll keep your technical accounting and audit knowledge sharp, stay on top of CPD requirements, and know when to bring in a Manager, Director or Partner on trickier technical or risk matters.
Business Development
You'll get exposure to tenders, proposals and pitches, and help build the kind of professional network that supports the firm's — and your own — long-term growth.
What We're Looking For
ACA, ACCA, ICAS or an equivalent professional qualification (newly qualified candidates welcome to apply)
Previous audit experience gained within practice
Confidence working directly with clients and managing stakeholder relationships
Strong technical accounting and audit knowledge
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
The ability to juggle multiple priorities and hit tight deadlines independently
