This is a great opportunity for someone early in their finance journey to gain hands-on experience across a varied portfolio, play an important role in supporting the delivery of accurate financial information and work closely with experienced accountants developing a strong foundation in core finance processes.
Responsibilities include:
- Processing purchase invoices and supporting supplier payments
- Keeping the purchase ledger up to date and resolving any queries
- Carrying out daily bank reconciliations and investigating any differences
- Assisting with intercompany reconciliations and month-end checks
- Supporting with VAT returns and audit preparation
- Helping with month-end tasks alongside the Management Accountant
- Responding to finance queries and supporting the wider team
- Getting involved in general admin and helping improve processes over time
Requirements:
- A degree in accounting/finance or some experience in a finance role (e.g. Purchase Ledger / Finance Assistant)
- A positive attitude and eagerness to learn and develop
- Good attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Comfortable using Excel (basic formulas, with exposure to pivot tables/VLOOKUPs being a bonus)
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with others
- Experience with accounting systems is helpful, but not essential — full support will be provided
