Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive credit risk management strategy that supports the company’s growth objectives.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive practices, and regulatory changes to guide strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to embed credit risk considerations into overall business strategy.
Portfolio Performance Management
  • Design and oversee portfolio reports, dashboards, and KPIs to measure portfolio profitability and risk performance.
  • Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with Marketing, IT, Legal/Compliance, and other teams to align risk management initiatives with business objectives.
  • Partner with internal risk teams to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of end-to-end risk programs.
  • Evaluate risk and profitability of new products and marketing channels, recommending and executing strategies to enhance performance.
  • Collaborate with Product and Marketing teams to establish targets for key financial levers, including first-pay defaults, funding rates, acquisition costs, and overall profitability.
Innovation and Technology Integration
  • Lead the adoption of innovative technologies, including AI and advanced data analytics, to strengthen risk assessment processes.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance customer experience and operational efficiency through technology-driven solutions.
Team Leadership and Development
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing risk management team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.
  • Promote professional growth by ensuring access to training and development resources for team members.
Regulatory Compliance and Governance
  • Ensure all credit risk practices comply with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Work closely with Legal and Compliance teams to develop policies and procedures aligned with best practices and regulatory requirements.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Cultivate strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including executives, product teams, and regulatory authorities.
  • Communicate credit risk strategies, insights, and recommendations to the board and senior leadership clearly and persuasively.
Experience and Education
  • Master’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field; PhD preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in credit risk management, preferably in financial services or online lending.
  • Proven track record of strategic leadership and delivering high-impact initiatives.
  • Deep expertise in credit risk modeling, including machine learning and advanced analytics techniques.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in credit risk management.
