Responsibilities include:
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with HGB and IFRS.
- Post and review journal entries, with a focus on fixed assets, equity, provisions, liabilities, shareholder and external loans.
- Manage onboarding of new entities (SPVs), including review of legal documentation and contracts.
- Reconcile, validate, and upload financial data (e.g., rental accounting).
- Deliver ad-hoc client reports and analysis as required.
- Oversee own deliverables, including payment processing and monitoring.
- Prepare VAT returns and statistical filings (e.g., Bundesbank reports).
- Train, mentor, and develop accounting team members, providing performance feedback.
- Delegate tasks effectively while ensuring appropriate oversight and support.
- Drive process efficiency, automation, and workflow improvements.
- Collaborate with clients, internal teams, banks, auditors, legal counsel, and tax advisors.
- Maintain strong client relationships, ensuring excellent service delivery.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Tax, or qualified Certified Accountant (IHK).
- 4–5 years’ experience as a senior/general ledger accountant, ideally within an international audit firm, private equity, or asset/investment management environment.
- Experience with SPV/investment accounting desirable.
- Strong knowledge of HGB; IFRS knowledge advantageous.
- Fluency in German and English (spoken and written).
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and client-focused with a collaborative mindset.
- Confident user of accounting systems (DATEV, SAP, MS Office).
