Our client, an insurance company based in Dublin, is currently seeking a Financial Accountant to join their growing finance team. This is a hybrid position reporting to the Head of Finance and offers strong exposure across financial reporting, operations, and process improvement within a dynamic environment.
The successful candidate will support the preparation of monthly management accounts, including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations, while helping ensure the accuracy of the general ledger and supporting a smooth month-end close process. The role will also involve preparing balance sheet reconciliations, assisting with budgeting and forecasting activities, and supporting wider financial analysis where required.
You will assist with the preparation of statutory financial statements and help coordinate the external audit process, while ensuring compliance with relevant Irish and UK tax requirements such as VAT and payroll-related obligations. The position also includes involvement in day-to-day finance operations including accounts payable and receivable oversight, processing supplier invoices and expenses, assisting with payroll preparation, and supporting treasury and cashflow forecasting activities.
There will also be opportunities to contribute to improving finance processes and internal controls, documenting procedures, and supporting system or automation initiatives as the finance function continues to evolve.
The role would suit a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA or similar) with approximately 2–4 years’ experience in accounting, audit or a similar finance position. Strong attention to detail, good communication skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment are important.
The company offers a competitive salary and benefits package including health insurance, pension with employer contribution, hybrid working and generous annual leave.
