Position: Senior Director, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM)
Role Overview:
This is a senior leadership role reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, responsible for overseeing the organization’s ERM program. The position provides oversight of all aspects of enterprise risk management, including model risk, third-party risk, operational risk, operational resiliency, and physical security. The role ensures risks are identified, measured, monitored, reported, and prioritized, and serves as a trusted advisor to senior leadership to drive organizational, operational, and business improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the organization’s ERM program, providing guidance across risk areas.
  • Identify, assess, and monitor key risks to support strategic decision-making.
  • Advise senior leadership and influence risk management practices across the organization.
  • Oversee risk-related initiatives, including model governance, third-party risk, operational resiliency, and physical security.
  • Drive process improvement, risk mitigation, and organizational change initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field.
  • 12 years in Enterprise Risk Management within financial services.
  • 5 years in a senior ERM leadership role within a publicly traded financial institution of $5B in assets.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CPA, CIA).
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong executive presence, with experience presenting to large groups and senior management.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; able to translate technical risk concepts into business language.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills: managing projects, building teams, and leading change.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ability to leverage technology to advance program initiatives.
