It is everyone’s responsibility to promote a culture of diversity and inclusion in their organisation. At the recent Dive in Festival, I saw Dame Stella Rimmingon speak who commented regarding the topic; “it is slightly late in the day, but you are doing it. It is very important and if you work hard at it, you will do it, and that is exactly what you are doing” I found this to be a thought-provoking comment that we, at Broadgate Search, would fully endorse.
No member of the armed forces community should face disadvantage in the provision of public and commercial services compared to any other citizen.
In some circumstances special treatment may be appropriate, especially for the injured or bereaved.
Broadgate Search is passionate about its involvement in the on-going growth and development of our business. We recognise that Corporate Social Responsibility is of increasing concern and importance to our clients, candidates and future business partners.
Our company is strongly affiliated with several charitable organisations most notably Ex-Military Careers in the UK and Peter McVerry Trust in Ireland. Ex-Military Careers is a social enterprise offering employment and training courses to veterans. Every year, 24,000 skilled service men and women leave the armed forces with very little guidance on how to re-enter the civilian life. Ex-Military Careers aims to bridge the gap between military and civilian life through on-going employment support and mentoring. As part of this commitment, employees of Broadgate Search are encouraged to dedicate their time helping veterans “back to work” initiatives including to CV writing classes, interview preparations and career guidance.
